I am the founder and music teacher at Bassickgroove academy with over 12 years of experience as a professional musician and music teacher specialising in acoustic, electric, bass and ukulele.I'm committed to provide quality music education and help students prepare for Trinity Exam.

My approach to music education focuses on developing techniques, dynamics, sense of timing, confidence and an extensive knowledge of music theory, scales, chord sequences and ear training.

Somesh Prakasam has conducted a comprehensive workshop for bass players of all skill levels. Participants learned the fundamentals of bass playing, including scales, rhythm, intonation, technique, and ear training. The workshop also covered more advanced topics such as improvisation, music theory, and advanced techniques. Participants completed the workshop with a new understanding of bass playing and the confidence to take their skills to the next level.

A bass duet is a great way for music teachers to help their students learn the basics of playing bass. By performing duets together, students can learn how to develop their music skills and build a sense of teamwork. Performing a duet is also a great way to practice techniques like rhythm, articulation, and improvisation. Duets can even be a fun way for students to learn how to play in different styles. With the right guidance, students can develop their skills while enjoying the process of performing together.

As a music teacher, my goal is to help my students develop an ear for music. One way I do this is by having them listen to vinyl records.By listening to music in its original form, students can gain a better understanding of the nuances, textures, and dynamics of the music. Listening to vinyl is a great way to introduce students to the beauty of music and to help them develop their appreciation for it. I'm so glad I started taking classes with my teacher at BassickGroove. He has been an incredibly supportive mentor who has helped me transition from acoustic guitar to bass guitar.
